At 1st Holgate Scouts, we provide fun, adventure, and skills for life to young people aged 4 to 18. As the largest Scout Group in North Yorkshire, with over 300 members, we offer a diverse range of activities tailored to different age groups.

Our Sections:

  • Squirrel Scouts (Ages 4-6): Our youngest section! Squirrels develop essential skills, learn about the outdoors, and have lots of fun through games and activities.
  • Beaver Scouts (Ages 6-8): Beavers enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits, and helping others. They are introduced to the outdoors and start developing teamwork skills.
  • Cub Scouts (Ages 8-10½): Cubs embark on exciting adventures, learn practical skills (like cooking and first aid), and develop character skills (like integrity and initiative). Activities include den building, hikes, and community projects.
  • Scouts (Ages 10½-14): Scouts take on more challenging adventures, learn leadership skills, and explore the outdoors through camping, hiking, and other activities.
  • Explorer Scouts (Ages 14-18): Explorers focus on independence, teamwork, and adventure. They participate in ambitious activities, develop leadership skills, and often work on community projects.
