During the Constantine Troop’s treasure hunt on Friday, two of our Scout leaders were involved in a road traffic collision. They were walking along Sowerby Road in Acomb whilst shadowing a group of Scouts when a car mounted the pavement hitting them.
Matt and Mike sustained serious injuries which required emergency hospital treatment. We are all hugely relieved that their condition was not more serious.
They and their families have expressed gratitude for all the kind wishes received from members of the group and elsewhere. They would also like to thank their fellow Scout Leaders who were the first on the scene and rendered first aid, support and reassurance and who called the emergency services. They were a true credit to the Scout Group.
We wish them both a speedy recovery and send our love, support and best wishes to them both and their families.
