There are numerous intangible benefits too!<\/p>\n<p>According to new research, the majority of Scouting volunteers reported having improved life satisfaction (70%) and self-esteem (66%) since beginning volunteer work, as well as having reduced feelings of loneliness (42%) and stress (33<a href=\"https:\/\/1stholgatescoutgroup.org.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Beavers20at20Snowball_616x318.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2165 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/1stholgatescoutgroup.org.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Beavers20at20Snowball_616x318-300x155.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"553\" height=\"286\" srcset=\"https:\/\/1stholgatescoutgroup.org.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Beavers20at20Snowball_616x318-300x155.jpg 300w, https:\/\/1stholgatescoutgroup.org.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Beavers20at20Snowball_616x318-600x310.jpg 600w, https:\/\/1stholgatescoutgroup.org.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Beavers20at20Snowball_616x318-581x300.jpg 581w, https:\/\/1stholgatescoutgroup.org.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Beavers20at20Snowball_616x318.jpg 616w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 553px) 100vw, 553px\" \/><\/a>%).<\/p>\n<p>Nearly two thirds (65%) also said that since beginning volunteer work they have developed useful employability skills; with 59% saying they feel more confident and 54% feeling more motivated in their jobs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As a Leader it has given me a lot more confidence than when I started helping&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As a parent, I couldn&#8217;t ask my children to take part in a better activity. I know that whan I am not with them, they are cared for and loved, by a much wider family.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>We currently have three full colonies running on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
