Our Scout group is growing. We need adults who are keen to try new things and to have fun to join our team of adults who run our youth section for 6 – 8 year olds.
We call this youth section Beavers and they are great young people who are friendly, fun to be with and eager to try new experiences. We need adults to help us provide these fantastic opportunities to local young people. Our leaders are normal people just like you, but by working together they make extraordinary things happen!
One week you may play volleyball, the next get crafty making puppets, the week after make a structure with spaghetti (yes spaghetti!) – we call this pioneering. What we can guarantee is that no two weeks are the same as the young people do different things each week to earn their badges and awards. We are open to boys and girls from all faiths, backgrounds and abilities and welcome everyone.
Could you make a difference and help the Beavers get off to a flying start? We meet weekly and are looking for someone to join our team of Leaders so if you can’t be there every week that’s OK, we understand and welcome you when you can come! Perhaps you could help us plan some of our fantastic activities or day trips instead. Whatever time you have to give we can find a role for you that you will find rewarding.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for volunteers who enjoy working with young people as part of an adult team; like to have a go and get stuck in. Scouting in the Beaver Section can be very rewarding helping our young people achieve their awards and badges and of course have fun.
Practical considerations
Beavers meet weekly though all our roles are flexible, you will work as part of a team, you may have experience working with young people or you may wish to develop your skills and add to your cv. Scouting has many roles and we deliver training to our volunteers.
